Description

UPDATE OF 1/26/2017: Due to continued over-saturation of event grounds, Snow Fest 2017 has been postponed to SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 4TH. Registration remains closed for the rescheduled date.

DESCRIPTION: This popular annual event provides an opportunity for young and old to enjoy the experience of snow right here in Aliso Viejo. To enter the designated snow areas of Grand Mountain, Bunny Hill, Snowman Park, and the Snowman Gallery, wristbands are required and are available for purchase. A priority registration period for AV residents ONLY is offered from December 20 through January 3, as space is available. If space is still available after the priority period, registration will open to include non-residents from January 4 through January 10 only.

In addition to the snow areas requiring wristbands, many free activities will be offered, including a portable art studio, family games, food and community information/activity booths, balloon twister, glitter tattoos, and photo opportunities with the Snow Fest snowman mascot. RAIN DATES: January 28, then if needed, February 4

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

Registration will be conducted on-line ONLY. Registration for Aliso Viejo residents ONLY will begin 8:00 p.m, Tuesday, December 20 and will continue until January 3, or when sold out. If space continues to be available, open registration will begin 12:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 4 and will continue through Tuesday, January 10 only. There is a limit of 500 wristbands available per session, so register early before the event sells out!

Session Times:

Session I: 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.

Session II: 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Session III: 2:00 p.m. -3:00 p.m.

EVENT FACTS:

How many people can I register/purchase wristbands for? There is a limit of five (5) wristbands per registrant and other registered participants must be of immediate family only. Please see question directly below for additional information.

Can I register my neighbor's family/my relatives/my friends/ my group? A child's own parent or guardian MUST register for those under age eighteen (18), and all adults MUST register themselves, as the registration/liability waiver forms are legal documents. Sorry, due to liability issues, there are NO group sales allowed, including friends, extended families, or groups.

If my relatives/friends will not be going into the snow areas, do they need wristbands? No, those who will just be watching or taking photos will not need wristbands to enter the event area. Only those planning to participate in the snow areas will need wristbands.

Can I purchase wristbands on the day of the event? As there is a limited number of participants in each session, Snow Fest is a pre-paid event, so unfortunately, NO wristbands will be sold on event day.

I am not an Aliso Viejo resident. Can I still purchase wristbands? As this is an Aliso Viejo event, AV residents have priority. If there is still space available in one or more sessions after priority registration closes, open registration will begin on Wednesday, January 4 and continue through January 10 only.

How will I receive my wristband(s)? Wristbands will be mailed to the registrant address from January 11-13, so please be sure your contact information is correct. If you don't receive your wristbands by January 16, please call 949-425-2537.

What if I want/need to switch session times? If space is available in the desired session, you may switch sessions through January 10 only. Click on this link for instructions- transfer to a different event

What if I lost/forgot my wristband(s)? Once you receive your wristbands, we highly recommend you place them in a safe, easily remembered place. If you lost/ any or all of your wristbands, please call 949-425-2537. You will need to provide identification and proof of purchase/confirmation receipt and to account for any wristbands still in possession.

Where can I park for the event? Parking is located in the Aliso Viejo Town Center. Additional parking is located in the parking structure off of Enterprise.

Which snow activities are appropriate for my child's age/abilities? Grand Mountain is a steeper, longer and wider incline built for older children (required age 7 and older), teens, and adults to ride alone or in tandem. Bunny Hill is a shorter & narrower incline built for children required ages 5 and over. Snow Park is an enclosed snow field for children required age five and under (children under 2 accompanied by one paid adult) for snow play and exploration. The adjacent Snowman Gallery is designed for children required ages 6 and older and adults to build their own snow figures.

What should we bring/how should we dress? Even though the weather may be warm, the snow will be cold, so dress in layers. It is highly recommended to wear waterproof snow pants, jackets, gloves, and boots. Sunscreen and sunglasses are also suggested. Please note: participants will most likely get wet, so towels and available extra dry clothing would be a good idea.

What is not allowed? NO OUTSIDE SLEDS/SAUCERS OR OTHER SNOW EQUIPMENT - City will provide plastic sleds. NO PETS -This event is NOT pet-friendly. NO ROUGH PLAY, THROWING SNOW BALLS, OR RUNNING- Violators will be asked to leave event.

What happens if it forecasted to rain on event day? Event staff will be carefully monitoring the weather and if there is a probable chance of rain, the event will be cancelled. Please check the City website (cityofalisoviejo.com) or the Snow Fest phone hotline (949-425-2537) for updated event information. There are NO REFUNDS; so please mark your calendars for the alternate rain date of Saturday, January 28, and if it rains on that date, the event will be scheduled for Saturday, February 4.

What is your refund policy? Sorry, all sales are final. There are NO REFUNDS for missed sessions for any reason. Please be sure that you are available for your designated session on Saturday, January 21 as well as for the rain dates of January 28 and February 4 in case of postponement.
